The Cannonball Run

I’ve got 2000 miles ahead of me with 35 hours of driving and charging time. I should easily do this in three days, let’s see how close I can get to being home in two days.

Given that the COVID situation seems to be locking down the South reasonably well, I decided to go straight across the country, rather than stop into Texas. It would be nice to see friends along that route, but I think I might be getting tired of this adventure, and just want to B-line home.

Here we go!!

  1. Rob – your blog was amazing, as were the instagram updates! I finally went back to finish reading the whole thing – what a trip you had. πŸ™‚ My favorite highlights… 1) your description of Wall Drug. It was quite colorful and could not have been more accurate based on my brief experience there! 2) The glider trip. OMG it looks terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Holy smokes! 3)The music!! The playlist and music alone might have made that trip worthwhile even without all the incredible sights and stops. (Hard to stop at 3 because everything in your blog was worthy I think. But I’ll leave it at that so I can also add my top 3 photos). πŸ™‚ #1 – The star wars sheets. #2 – The night sky shots. #3 – red bowl as a hat. Again – hard to choose favorites.

Thanks for sharing your trip with the world….It all made me want to take one. Glad you are safely back to VA. Take care, Rob!!

    1. Hi Jen!! It was indeed a bucket list trip and your favorites were mine too. I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed the blog. It was fun to write, and it allowed me the opportunity to dust off my old camera.

To be totally honest, there were parts of that glider flight that scared the bejesus out of me but knew I had a great pilot.

Just think, I could have asked for them to take the flight and do a barrel roll.

The soundtrack made the long hours of driving much more fun. I am still listening to the setlist.

It’s been great hearing from you. I hope you are well and perhaps I will be reading about your own road trip soon πŸ™‚
